From soup bar to neighbourhood walk. Team Belgium was on site all day in Sluizeken-Tolhuis-Ham.

We started our day in the community center 'Sluizeken' by having a cup of soup with local residents. This was also the starting point of the weekly walking tour by the community health center 'De Sleep'. We made our way along the busy commercial street 'De Sleepstraat' and then turned into the residential areas behind with its typical inner areas. We stopped at some highlights such as 'Dok Noord' and then returned to basecamp, chit chatting along the way with local residents.

This walk was just the beginning of our CO2PED journey in getting to know the two case study neighborhoods, Sluizeken Tolhuis Ham and Watersportbaan. We aim to better understand the daily lives, challenges, and opportunities within the community. We will be present in these neighborhoods one day per week, creating a consistent space for dialogue, exchange, and collaboration.
