Despite a recent population decrease, Matosinhos sees an increasing demand for low-income housing. The Matosinhos Energy Hub project aims to support citizens in improving thermal comfort in their homes and mitigating energy poverty.

The research in Ghent seeks to explore innovative bottom-up methodologies to empower communities and drive positive transformation within the CO2PED case neighborhoods. The objective is to identify actionable strategies for sustainable urban development, with a particular focus on addressing social needs, fostering community participation, and promoting empowerment.
