First session held during the Open Week of the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences (DCSPT), University of Aveiro
In the week of 19 May 2025, our team launched a new series of workshops on collective agency and co-evolution toward inclusive energy transitions, with the first session held at the University of Aveiro as part of the Open Week of the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences (DCSPT). The DCSPT Open Week is a space to test ideas, exchange knowledge, and strengthen the relationship between universities and society. The program included the International Conference on Public Policies and Data Science, the Public Administration Conference, and the celebration of DCSPT’s anniversary. Our workshop brought together participants from a range of academic backgrounds and disciplines to explore how Positive Energy Districts (PEDs)can contribute to more sustainable, inclusive, and energy-positive urban environments, particularly in social housing neighborhoods.

Using the World Café method, discussions were structured around four thematic levels: Dwelling, Interface, Public Space and Co-evolution. Each round invited critical reflection on indicators that capture collective agency and support inclusive transition pathways. This session laid the foundation for the broader series, which will continue with other stakeholder groups in the coming months.
